Feudi del Pisciotto
Our wines tell the story of Sicily

Wines Feudi del Pisciotto

"Wine is a mixture of light and earthy humors..."
Galileo Galilei

Feudi del Pisciotto, a estate located in the heart of the DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria, is a point of reference for wine lovers. The estate spans 43 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of up to 300 meters above sea level, located on the edge of the Sughereta di Niscemi Nature Reserve and just a few kilometers from the sea. This creates an ideal microclimate for sustainable viticulture, attentive to nature and biodiversity. The beating heart of the estate is the ancient Palmento, where farmers once stomped the grapes with their feet, and today wine is produced using the most modern technologies, creating a perfect blend of past and future.

The winery offers a diverse selection of wines, starting with the entry-level Le Maioliche line, the new Colori di Sicilia and I Putti del Serpotta lines, specialties such as Nero D’Avola Versace, Alaziza, and Davolarosa Brut Rosé, the Gran Cru Moro di Testa and L’Eterno, and the Passito Tachis, which pays tribute to the greatest winemaker of all time.

L'Eterno The Grand Crus
Feudi del Pisciotto

Pinot Nero

100% Pinot nero. It’s the grand vin of the estate, inspired by Paolo Panerai and the great Giacomo Tachis who had perfect knowledge of this noble grape variety, atypical for Sicily and yet offering a rather striking opportunity for expression on the island. An expression of clear Burgundian character, consistent, but at the same time exceptionally fine and elegant. The label depicts the hand of Eterno, a detail of Giacomo Serpotta’s eponymous triptych whose restoration was funded by the Feudi del Pisciotto estate.

Passito Tachis Specialties

Gewürztraminer / Sémillon

The Passito Tachis is a tribute to the great Italian winemaker Giacomo Tachis, who loved challenges and, for this reason, suggested producing a Sicilian Passito not with the traditional Zibibbo, but with Semillon and Gewürztraminer - two grape varieties unusual for Sicily - to create a wine that could be enjoyed throughout the entire meal.

Moro di Testa The Grand Crus
Feudi del Pisciotto

Syrah / Nero d'Avola

Syrah prefers sandy soils and the vineyards of Piano Spineto, the plateau located in the highest part of the estate in front of the sea, are the ideal habitat for this great grape variety. The image of the Moor on the label is taken from a sculpture made by Giacomo Alessi, the great ceramist from Caltagirone.

Nero d'Avola Specialties

Nero d'Avola

The grape variety that best expresses the character of Sicily’s oenological tradition. This wine, meticulously produced using the estate’s finest resources, expresses in absolute purity the extraordinary elegance and ability of a wine destined to improve over time. Drawn by Donatella Versace, the label is a tribute to the strong personality of Sicilian terroir and wines. The Nero d’Avola 2015 –Versace label has been included in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list in 2017, therefore proclaiming it one of the 100 best wines in the world.

Alaziza Specialties

Viognier / Zibibbo

Straw yellow color. On the nose, the aromas of exotic fruit and peach, characteristic of the Viognier, are accompanied by the pleasant aromatic notes of orange blossoms typical of the Zibibbo. In the mouth a strong acidity supports the structure, giving drinkability and harmony.
The French fashion designer Stephan Janson, based in Italy since his first collection launched in 1989, has drawn a label that evokes elements of the Sicilian landscape in a dreamlike atmosphere.

Nature and Sustainability

The Terroir

The wine making process of Feudi del Pisciotto is based on the philosophy of the master Italian winemaker Giacomo Tachis, according to which the “terroir of Sicily allows any type of vine to be grown successfully, with the right knowledge”.

The labels of Feudi del Pisciotto are the result of the genius of Tachis and the skills of his heir apparent, Alessandro Cellai, wine maker and Managing Director of the winery together with resident wine maker Marco Parisi. And Feudi del Pisciotto owes its 100% Pinot Noir known as L’Eterno, which has been in production since the 2011 harvest, to one of Tachis’ intuitions.

The excellence of the wines of Feudi del Pisciotto is the result of careful study, passion and dedication. The wine is produced with respect for nature and in line with the principles of sustainability. The indigenous and international vines are grown with care and love to guarantee a finished product of the highest quality.

The Wine Maker

Alessandro Cellai

When Tachis named Alessandro Cellai his heir apparent, he allowed him to make use of the experience of 50 years of harvests, which led to the Italian Winemaking Renaissance. Alessandro was nominated best young wine maker in Canada, and in other countries, seven years in a row, and he also personally deals with company’s exports to many different countries, including the United States and Russia.

Feudi del Pisciotto makes use of the invaluable professional skills of Marco Parisi as a resident wine maker. Marco took a degree in wine growing in Marsala, specialized in Asti and did a postgraduate Master’s Degree in Lisbon. After gaining experience on an international level, he joined Alessandro Cellai’s team, and put his experience in South Africa into practice in a project to recover indigenous Sicilian vines, among other things.
